Downey Duck Pymatuning State Park

Pymatuning is one of the largest state parks in the Commonwealth. Pymatuning Lake is especially lovely in late spring evenings when the sunset gilds the water and colorful sailboats appear to slide across a lake of gold.

What To See

Common species of fish in the lake include walleye, muskellunge, carp, crappie, perch, bluegill, and largemouth and smallmouth bass.

The depths range from 15 to 30 feet..

How to Get There

Pymatuning State Park is located in southwestern Crawford County. The park office is located near the Crawford-Mercer County line about 1.5 miles north of Jamestown, Pennsylvania. Approximately three-fourths of the reservoir area is located in Crawford County and the remaining one-fourth is located in Ashtabula County, Ohio.

Within a 100-mile radius lie the Pennsylvania cities of Erie, Sharon, Meadville, New Castle and Pittsburgh, and the Ohio cities of Youngstown, Warren, Lorain and Cleveland. From the east and west the park is accessible by U.S. Route 6, U.S. Route 322, PA Route 18, PA Route 285, and PA Route 58.

Rates

There is no "entry fee" to dive the lake.
