Downey Duck Gifford Pinchot Park

This picturesque park is situated among gently rolling farm fields and heavily wooded hillsides. All stages of foreset succession can be observed at the park and provide habitat for abundant wildlife. Pinchot Lake is a great warm water fishery and is popular for sailing.

Gifford Pinchot State Park, a 2,338-acre full service park, is located in northern York County along PA Route 177 between the towns of Rossville and Lewisberry. The park consists of reverting farm fields and wooded hillsides with the 340-acre Pinchot Lake serving as a prime attraction

What To See

A wide variety of fish are located in the lake including largemouth bass, hybrid stripped bass, muskellunge, catfish, carp, walleye, crappie and sunfish.

The average depth of the lake is 5-10 feet with a maximum depth of 30 feet at the dam.

How to Get There

The park is near the metropolitan areas of York and Harrisburg. It may be reached from Harrisburg via the Lewisberry exit (15) off Interstate 83 South and PA Route 177 South; or by U.S. Route 15 South to Dillsburg, then to PA Route 74 South. From York, take PA route 74 North or Interstate 83 North. From I-83 take Exit 13, PA Route 382 West to PA Route 177 South.

Rates

There is no "entry fee" to dive the lake.
