Downey Duck French Creek State Park

Set amidst the old, quaint and picturesque farmland of southeast Pennsylvania, French Creek offers two lakes--Hopewell and Scotts Run, extensive forests and almost 40 miles of hiking trails. Adjacent to the park lies Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site that features a cold-blast furnace restored to its 1830s appearance.

Diving is only permitted in Hopewell Lake

Divers must contact the park office before diving to be notified of certification requirements, park diving areas and park-specific diving information.

What To See

A wide variety of Pennsylvania warm water species including: northern pike, chain pickerel, bass walleye, muskellunge and many species of panfish are found at Hopewell Lake. This lake is designated as a big bass lake.

The average depth of the lake is 20 feet or less

How to Get There

French Creek State Park is located off of Route 345, south of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, and north of Route 23. The park is in Berks and Chester Counties.

Rates

There is no "entry fee" to dive the lake.
