Classes

Class will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:30 for 6 sessions beginning March 27 and ending on May 8. There is no class on April 10 due to spring break. We will meet in the classroom by the pool in street clothes before going to the pool.

During the first session you will have your photo taken for your certification card, complete some forms, and have an opportunity to purchase home study materials consisting of either the PADI manual & video, or multi-media computer based program before heading to the pool for your first scuba dive. Each subsequent class will begin with a  review of the current chapter and a short quiz before heading to the pool.

Bring a swimsuit, towel, and padlock for your locker. We will supply all your scuba equipment. It's very important that you attend all classes, as they must be completed in order. If you miss a session, it may be taken at one of our other locations at no additional charge or you may take a private make-up classes at $20/hour.

We recommend that you download and complete the medical form before the first class. If you answer "Yes" to any of the ailments you will need an physician's signature before participating in any pool sessions. Please bring this form with you to the first class.

After completing classroom and pool sessions, you will need to do four open water dives scheduled over 2 days. These dives are scheduled at various times (check our calendar). You also have the option to get a referral to do your dives at another time and place, such as on your next tropical vacation. After you have completed your four open water dives, you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver.

Costs: (Purchase only what you need, Family members may share Textbook or CD-ROM)

Classroom & pool training	$128 (Paid to Butler County Community College)
Textbook or CD-ROM packet:	$40-$70 (to instructor, if needed)
Full scuba equipment for pool dives:	$60 (Paid to instructor, if needed)
Open water training & certification:	$80 (paid to instructor, if needed)
Open water equipment rental:	About $95 (for tanks, reg, BC, wet suit)

Directions from Butler: Take Rt 68 west. Three miles west of Evans City turn right at the blinker on to Hartman Rd. Bear left at the next two Y intersections. The second left will put you on Seneca School Road. Turn left at the school and park between the middle school and the intermediate/high school. Use the pool entrance at the right rear corner of the intermediate/high school. (Click here for map)

Directions from I-79 North of Zelienople: Exit at 87 and turn left on Little Creek Road. Turn right when you get to the northbound ramp, and right again on to Seneca School Rd. Turn right at the school and park between the middle school and the intermediate/high school. Use the pool entrance at the right rear corner of the intermediate/high school. (Click here for map)
