Scuba
Certification Class Class will meet on Tue & Thu from 6:30-10:30 PM for 6 sessions beginning June 11 and ending on June 27. We will meet in the board room in street clothes before going to the pool.
During
the first session you will have your photo taken for your certification
card, complete some forms, and have an opportunity to purchase home study
materials before heading to the pool for your first scuba dive.
Each subsequent class will begin with a review of the current chapter
and a short quiz before heading to the pool.
Be sure to bring the completed Knowledge Review for each chapter.
Bring a swimsuit,
towel, and padlock for your locker. We will supply all your scuba equipment.
It's very important that you attend all classes, as they must be completed
in order. If you miss a session, it may be taken at one of our other locations
at no additional charge or you may take a private make-up classes at $20/hour.
We recommend that you download and complete the medical form before the first class. If you answer "Yes" to any of the ailments you will need an physician's signature before participating in any pool sessions. Please bring this form with you to the first class.
After completing classroom and pool sessions, you will need to do four open water dives scheduled over 2 days. These dives are scheduled at various times during the summer. (check our calendar). You also have the option to get a referral to do your dives at another time and place, such as on your next tropical vacation. After you have completed your four open water dives, you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver.

Directions From I-79: From Exit 68(Mt Nebo) Take Blackburn Rd 4 miles to Sewickley. Be sure to bear left at the first three way intersection and right at the second, staying on Blackburn Rd. You will see the YMCA on your right, accross the street from the hospital. Park in the big lot just up the hill from the tennis courts and ask at the front desk for the meeting location.
