Downey DuckPADI Scuba Diver 
The adventure begins! Imagine watching the water level move up your mask as you go below the surface--and continue to breathe! It's the most exciting feeling imaginable and the PADI Scuba Diver rating is perfect for your busy life style. You will learn to dive safely under professional supervision, without committing a lot of time. 

Overview 

PADI Scuba Diver allows a diver to dive under the direct supervision of a Divemaster or Instructor. It also allows the diver to obtain air fills, scuba equipment, and other services. All our classes include the option to continue training to the Open Water Diver level. This may be done immediately or at a later time, if desired. 

Description 

  • 4 Sessions of three hours, each involving classroom and  pool diving
  • 2 scuba dives in open water
  • Earns the PADI Scuba Diver certification, enabling you to buy/rent scuba equipment and dive under professional supervision. 

Program Steps 

  1. Read the Open Water Diver Manual, watch the video, and complete the module reviews, or use the CD-ROM and complete the module reviews before each seminar. 
  2. Pass each of 3 quizzes and successfully perform the pool dive skills.
  3. Make 2 open water dives with an instructor. Open water dives can be done with us locally or during a tropical trip, or we can give you a referral to finish with an instructor anywhere in the world. 

Prerequisites

  • Age: Minimum is 15 years, 12 with parent. 
  • Swimming requirements: Tread/float for 10 minutes.
  • Must be in good health (see Medical Form)
