Welcome
to one of the world's most exciting sports, your ticket to a lifetime of
adventure! Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable
in the water can scuba dive. Throughout the course, you'll learn the fundamentals
of diving, including dive equipment and techniques.
Upon completion of this classs and 4
open water dives you will be certified as an Open Water Diver.
Description
- 6 Classroom / pool sessions to learn and practice
skills.
- 4 scuba dives in open water.
- Earn PADI and/or SDI certification,
your "divers license"
Steps
Register at any of the several
locations listed below or contact
us.
Each class will begin with a one hour seminar followed by 2 hours in
the pool with full SCUBA. Each instructor will have a maximum of 4
students.
Obtain the study materials
at the first class, then complete a chapter in the manual, or the multi-media computer
program before each class.
Pass the quizzes and successfully
perform the dive skills in the pool.
Make 4 open water dives
under the supervision of an instructor. (Open water dives can be done
locally or during a tropical trip with Downey Diving, or you can get a
referral to finish with an instructor anywhere in the world.)

Prerequisites
|
- Age: Minimum is 12 years.
- Youth 17 and under must
have parent signature on medical &
waiver
- Swimming Requirements
for certification
- Swim 200 yards (using
any stroke).
- Tread water 10 minutes
- Medical: Must fill
out medical form. A "yes" to any
question requires a doctor's signature before entering the pool.
